FESTIVALS

As you know, Buffalo's summer are far too short. Therefore we must make the most of everyday, especially the weekends. So we try to cram everything into about 12 weekends. There is a festival for everything: chicken wing festival, Greek festival, Irish festival, Italian festival, etc.

This weekend is the 25th annual The Taste of Buffalo. 1/2 million people are expected to treat their pallets to some Buffalo favorites such as beef on weck and chicken wings, as well as a chance to try something new. There will be over 150 culinary specialities with about 60 restaurants being represented. Ours is the 2nd largest food festival in the United States. In addition to the usual and generally unhealthy (but delicious) selections, each vendor will be offering 1 healthy item on their menus.

So if you are planning on attending, wear loose fitting clothing and be prepared to pig out and delight your pallets. If you are not from Buffalo, then this is one incident where I can honestly say, "I am glad I am a Buffaloian and wish you were here."
