Thought for the Day: Things that make you go hmmmmmmm.....How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?
It's Friday and to many that means the weekend and some time away from your job. One of the perks of being a senior and being retired (and there are not many of them...) is that Friday is just like any other day. EVERY day is time away from a job. So I will take this time to wish all my readers a great and safe weekend.
Wonderful news!!!.....My son's dog has found a good home while he is in Greenland. His sister will take London and the best news is that London will have a playmate while living there......a cute little pug named Reggie.
I finally made it to the pool today and the aquatic class was so refreshing. It is amazing how addictive exercise can be. It seems like it is an ordeal the first few times you participate, but then you look forward to the next session and your body sure thanks you. Who would think that a bunch of old ladies would be this active? An interesting article appeared in the Washinton Post newspaper on 12/28/2007 regarding seniors and exercise. "Older Americans play with video games that promise to keep their minds sharp. Some do crossword puzzles, try to master foreign languages or learn to play musical instruments — all in the hope of staving off Alzheimer’s disease. Now, a growing body of research is offering tantalizing evidence that a brisk walk in the morning or some laps in the pool might accomplish the same task" Think about it!
I hope all of you have had a good day and have done something that has made you smile......it is one of the few free things that we have abundantly if we just move those facial muscles and smile.
So until tomorrow......slan (for all of you who do not know Gaelic, it means goodbye)
